Talia den Dulk qualified as a clinical dietitian at the University of Stellenbosch in 1999. She spent four year in the UK where she practiced as a clinical Dietitian in several NHS hospitals in London. She managed to qualify as a Senior dietitian within a year of clinical practice and specialized in the area of gastro-intestinal disorders, liver disease and intra-venous feeding. During this time she enrolled for a Masters degree in Nutrition at the University of Stellenbosch. Upon her return to South Africa in 2004 she opened a dietetic practice in Somerset West which quickly required an extension to the Stellenbosch area. Vergelegen and Stellenbosch Specialist Nutrition Centers where a broad range of specialist services such as: a dietetic service to people suffering from Heart Disease, Diabetes, Obesity, Malnutrition, Cancer, Food allergies, Digestive disorders, Osteoporosis, Pediatrics, Arthritis etc., with each of its dietitians specializing in one of these areas.. Talia, herself is a Type I diabetic, and with 20 years of her own experience as a diabetic and with her professional knowledge, is passionate about the nutritional management of Diabetes. Her other fields of interest are that of cardiovascular disease and weight management. Her approach is practical, based on preventative treatment and focused to assist in a lifestyle change. | ||
